Ramsey Consulting Group is hired by Harman Consumer Group to implement Quick Start Guides and Owner’s Manual Content for their rapid end of product development cycles on some hot new technology products for the mobile environment. We work with their in-house creative team as well as the product development teams to join the product concept to reality process together with fewer delays and revisions of their consumer documentation.

Harman Kardon Drive+Play2

The Drive+Play 2 is an entertainment hub solution that allows portable devices such as iPod^® to be carried into the car and then operated from a familiar user interface knob and dedicated display.

 Harman Kardon Guide+Play Portable Navigation Devices

The Guide+Play series of portable navigation devices (PNDs) were Harman’s entry into the PND market globally. In each case, RCGI developed the critical elements of setup, installation, and use of the device with concise instruction as well as development of the rich 2-D and 3-D graphical representations.  Since RCGI also handled the entire layout, we worked with Harman’s translation team to prepare files for easy translation into the final documents that are available in multiple languages in North America and Western Europe.

JBL MS-8

The JBL MS-8 is a powered digital processor for integration into both factory installed and aftermarket sounds systems. RCGI did the Quick Start Guide for the units (included in the box) as well as many of the words/images in the full manual on their setup CD as a PDF file.

JBL MS Series Amplifiers

Taking cues from the industrial design of the JBL MS-8, the MS series of amplifiers incorporate a unique top mounted digital display to setup and configure the amplifier, all with a single haptic control and two buttons. RCGI developed the Quick Start Guide for the units (included in the box) as well as many of the words/images in the full manual on their setup CD as a PDF file. RCGI also produced a small manual for the optional wireless bass controller with an “Ikea style” approach to minimal words and more illustrations for easier global translation and distribution with the product.
