Ramsey Consulting Group has developed and coordinated all of the current MECP (Mobile Electronics Certified Professional) study guides. These study guides assist installation technicians and sales people in preparation for their respective industry certification exams.

In the development process, selected industry professionals are tasked with submitting written content in their areas of expertise and RCGI follows with expansion of supporting materials, creation of 2-D and 3-D technical illustrations, as well as arranging or executing photography for use in the guides.

Our first major production effort was the Advanced Installation Technician study guide in 2003, followed by the Mobile Product Specialist guide rework in 2004. One of the most challenging tasks was coordinating the contributions and developing new materials for the Master Installation Technician study guide released in early 2007. There was not a benchmark for this guide as this was the first one ever produced to assist study for the MECP Master level exam. This book took over a year of development once it began and has been regarded as one of the leading non-product specific resources for today’s installation professionals to further their intellect and meet current market challenges.

In 2010 we helped MECP to introduce a completely revised Basic Installation Technician level study guide and exam, this time with an accompanying general job description to better inform prospective employers and technicians of the expectations of that entry-level position among many employers.

For 2011, our work with MECP technical content development continues.

We are proud to have worked with the many industry professionals who contribute their expertise and knowledge to make these guides a valuable resource. We continue to work closely with MECP today.
